The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force released today a final recommendation statement on screening for obesity in children and adolescents. The Task Force recommends that clinicians screen for obesity in children and adolescents age 6 years and older and offer or refer them to comprehensive, intensive behavioral interventions to promote improvements in weight status. The final recommendation statement can also be found in the June 20 online issue of JAMA.
