Outward Bound Community Services, LLC OBCS is a disability family owned & operated business providing a variety of supports to individuals and families on the Indiana Medicaid Waiver.

Our agency started in May 2018 with jus

t two Behavior Consultants, Jennifer David and Brooke Love. A few months later, two new Behavior Consultants joined OBSS and, within the first year of business, OBSS doubled in size in both the number of Behavior Consultants and persons being served. Our agency immediately saw the need for families to have access to participant assistance and care services (PAC) in order to assist with helping their loved one live safely and successfully in the community. Therefore, in May 2019, we added PAC services and a few months later, we hired our first recreational therapist in the Indianapolis area. Our mission at Outward Bound Support Services, LLC is to provide positive supports to persons, families and caregivers living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and autism. It is our goal to help those that we serve live the life that they want! We strive to help them make connections, engage in meaningful relationships and activities and empower them to be their best self and advocate for themselves. By the beginning of 2023, OBSS has grown to serve nearly 300 persons in over 70 counties in Indiana. We continue to look for ways to strengthen our relationships with the persons and families that we serve, other service providers, stakeholders, and communities we work in. Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID) is a complex condition involving a strong feeling that a part of the body does not align with a person’s internal sense of self. Conversations surrounding rare and misunderstood conditions remind us how important empathy, mental health support, and respectful understanding can be.

Lewy Body Dementia affects more than memory — it can impact movement, thinking, mood, sleep, and everyday life in ways many people may not realize.

For individuals and families living with Lewy Body Dementia, patience, understanding, and support can make a meaningful difference. A diagnosis does not take away a person’s value, personality, or the life experiences that make them who they are.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer someone is compassion and the willingness to walk beside them through difficult moments.

Our new Second Saturday Night Market at the Outward Bound Building is growing!

We still have a few indoor vendor spaces available for our June market on Saturday, June 13, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 359 Market Street in Charlestown.

Vendor spaces are just $10.

The Outward Bound Building is a family-friendly and accessible space, and everyone is welcome.
