💜 THANK YOU, JUST US VOLUSIA! 💜
Helping Us Care for Children All Summer Long.
As school lets out for the summer, many of the children staying in our emergency shelter lose access to the meals and snacks they normally receive during the school day.
Thanks to the generosity of Just Us Volusia, for your generous contribution towards our children’s pantry restock of kid-friendly favorites that help us meet the increased need during the summer months.💜💜

🎮🎓 LEVELING UP! 🎓🎮
Recently, we celebrated the incredible youth residing in our emergency shelter as they completed another school year and prepared to move on to the next grade level!
From Minecraft-themed activities and games to pizza, snacks, and a graduation celebration, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and reminders that every achievement deserves to be recognized.
We are so proud of each of these young people and all they have accomplished this year. Their resilience, determination, and growth continue to inspire us.
A special thank you to Kate Caruso for decorating the beautiful graduation cake that helped make this celebration extra special. 💚🎂
Congratulations to all of our students—you’ve officially leveled up!

💜 Have you ever walked away from a conversation feeling confused, blamed, or questioning your own experience?
DARVO is a manipulation tactic that stands for Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim & Offender. Recognizing these patterns can help you better understand unhealthy communication dynamics and protect your sense of reality.
Awareness is the first step toward empowerment. 💜

This week, some of DAC’s leadership and staff members had the opportunity to attend the Florida Domestic Violence Collaborative (FLDVC) Annual Conference in Boca Raton. 💜
We enjoyed a valuable time of learning, collaboration, and team building while connecting with advocates and educators from across the state. Conferences like these allow us to strengthen our knowledge, enhance our skills, and increase our capacity to serve survivors and their families throughout Volusia County.
Thank you to FLDVC for creating a space where professionals can come together, share best practices, and continue advancing the movement to end domestic violence.
When we invest in our team, we invest in better outcomes for survivors. 💜

📸 The first round of photos are here! 💜🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
We are loving reliving the memories from our 2026 Break The Silence 5K Run/Walk! From the runners and walkers to the volunteers, sponsors, survivors, community partners, and supporters who showed up for this cause—every step made a difference. The event was held on May 24, 2026, to raise awareness and support survivors of domestic violence.
A special thank you to Ezekiel Shootz for capturing these incredible moments and helping us tell the story of a community that refuses to stay silent. 📸💜
Stay tuned! More photos are on the way as we continue celebrating everyone who helped make this event such a success.
