We recently had the opportunity to sit down with WDTV for a special Business Talk segment featuring our Executive Director, Evelyn Post.

During the interview, Evelyn shared her passion for serving West Virginia’s elderly and disabled populations, the importance of quality in-home care, and the mission that continues to drive Central West Virginia Aging Services every day — helping individuals remain safe, independent, and comfortable in the place they call home.

For many years, Evelyn has been a strong advocate for seniors across our state, and we are proud to have her leadership guiding our organization and the families we serve.

Thank you to WDTV and the Aging Untold series for helping shine a light on the importance of compassionate in-home care in West Virginia.

❤️ Making a Difference, One Home at a Time ❤️

This past Friday, we had the privilege of helping one of our Case Management clients receive a new bed set and dresser through our Helping Hands charitable program.

Sometimes it’s the simple things—a comfortable place to sleep, a space to store your belongings—that can make the biggest difference in someone’s day-to-day life.

At Central West Virginia Aging Services, we believe care goes beyond the basics. Our Helping Hands program is here to fill in the gaps when our clients need a little extra support—whether that’s a mattress, bedding, toiletries, or other essential items.

We’re proud to be part of a community that looks out for one another. 💙

We recently had the opportunity to join WDTV for their Business Talk segment as part of the Aging Untold series—focused on helping families better understand the challenges of caring for aging loved ones.

In this interview, we talked about something we see every day: the early warning signs that a loved one may need extra help at home. From difficulty with daily tasks to balance issues or memory concerns, these signs often show up long before a serious event like a fall or hospital stay.

The most important message? You don’t have to wait for a crisis.
In many cases, early support through in-home care can help individuals stay safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes.

At Central West Virginia Aging Services, we’re committed to providing care you can trust—giving families peace of mind when it matters most.

🎉 Another Great Day of Bingo, Blood Pressure Checks, Pizza & Prizes! 🎉

Yesterday (3/16/26), we had the pleasure of sponsoring another wonderful Bingo event at Rivermont Presbyterian Homes in Montgomery, WV—and it was a huge success!

Residents enjoyed an afternoon full of fun, laughter, and friendly competition with Bingo, while also taking advantage of complimentary blood pressure screenings provided by our team. Of course, no event is complete without delicious pizza and exciting prizes—and we had plenty of both! 🍕🎁

Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to spend quality time together and continue building meaningful connections within the community. Events like these remind us how important it is to stay engaged, active, and supported at every stage of life.

💙 At Central West Virginia Aging Services, we’re proud to serve and uplift the communities we call home.

CWVASI Scholarship Spotlight

We love hearing from the students we have the privilege of supporting through our Central West Virginia Aging Services Scholarship Program, and today we want to recognize one of our recipients, Adam Cosner.

Adam, a 2025 graduate of BCHS, recently shared some exciting news with us from Marshall University. During his first semester, Adam earned an impressive 3.8 GPA and made the Dean’s List while also participating in three musical ensembles and performing several solos as part of The Marching Thunder.

Adam shared that the support from our scholarship program helped him succeed during his first semester of college, and we couldn’t be more proud to see him thriving and making the most of this opportunity.

Congratulations, Adam! Your dedication, hard work, and talent are inspiring, and we are proud to call you a CWVASI Scholarship recipient. We wish you continued success as you move forward in your college journey.

At Central West Virginia Aging Services, we are committed not only to serving our seniors with compassionate care, but also to investing in the future of our communities by supporting the next generation of leaders.

Keep up the great work, Adam — we are cheering you on!

❤️ Spreading the Love at Elk River Terrace! ❤️

On Friday, February 13th, Central WV Aging Services had the pleasure of participating in a wonderful Valentine’s Day party at Elk River Terrace Apartments. We were proud to sponsor a fun game of Valentine’s Bingo, complete with prizes for the winners! 🎉

The amazing staff at Elk River Terrace provided delicious refreshments — punch, cupcakes, and cookies — which made the afternoon even sweeter. 🍪🧁

We truly value our partnership with Elk River Terrace and other apartment communities like it. Events like this remind us how important connection, laughter, and community are for the seniors we serve. We’re especially grateful for the meaningful relationships our caregivers build with residents every day — those bonds are what make our work so special.

We look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate together in the future!

If you or a loved one is interested in learning more about our in-home care services, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help. ❤️
