What an incredible day at the Spiritual Life Center Open House! It was a powerful reminder of the great strides being made through the Conscious Initiative, a resident-led program transforming lives right here at the SLC.

The men shared their heartfelt experiences, describing how the SLC has provided an environment unlike any they’ve encountered before—one that is free from gang violence, stress, and drama. This unique space fosters healing that transcends the physical and emotional, offering a path to restoration and hope.

We’re excited about the possibilities for programming and growth within the SLC. If you’re enthusiastic about bringing in classes, workshops, or other opportunities for these men, we’d love to connect with you! We can help put you in touch with existing ministries or DOC staff to make a real difference in their lives.

Our board is thrilled to share that great things are happening daily at the facility. With activities scheduled every day, there are only a few hours left unbooked! From substance abuse classes and mindfulness sessions to various call outs, the transformation is truly underway.

We were absolutely thrilled to have entrepreneurs from across the nation join us to talk about transformation. Here are some incredible things we're praising God for today:

1️⃣ First and foremost, we're grateful for the opportunity to open the SLC doors and shed light on the incredible work happening within the hearts of individuals. 💖

2️⃣ We believe in not defining a person by their worst mistake. It was very powerful to hear one resident remark, "God has the little details-- and He's working it all for good. Even incarceration."

3️⃣ A special shoutout to three remarkable returned citizens, who collectively spent a total of 65 years behind bars, willing to return to share their stories of successful transition, proving that change is not only possible but incredibly powerful.

🌟 Reflecting on Global Leadership Summit 2023 🌟

What an incredible journey it's been at the Global Leadership Summit 2023! Last Thursday and Friday, residents gathered have thought-provoking discussions, listen to impactful stories, and experience life-changing insights. wasn't just an event – it was an experience to empower residents and give them the tools to make a difference. 🙌

There were over 200 attendees from Hutchinson Correctional Facility at East Unit and the Hutchinson Correctional Facility Spiritual Life Center and they were given a unique opportunity to learn from some of the brightest minds in leadership like Secretary Condoleezza Rice, Patrick Lencioni, James Clear, and more. But it's not just about learning – it's about embracing those stories and moments that resonate with with their own journeys. We're reminded that leadership isn't confined to titles; it's about our choices, actions, and the positive impact we can make wherever we are. 🌍

We are excited to share that over 200 residents from Central and East Units will attend Global Leadership Summit this year, August 3 - 4. These men will have the opportunity to embrace new perspectives and ignite positive change in their lives and the lives of others. 💪🏽

They will join men and women from around the country as they hear from top leaders sharing stories of personal growth, deeper understanding of their potential, and invaluable leadership skills to make a difference. 🌟 Our Central Unit residents will gather in the Spiritual Life Center to discover new ways to “Lead where you are.”
