Thank you to everyone who supported the Empowering Possibilities Campaign, an online Giving Day hosted by Orange County Community Foundation. As a group, more than $190,000 was raised.

As an organization, we raised $12,673 to support individuals with developmental disabilities through programs that promote independence, inclusion, healthy living, employment opportunities, and community connection.

Every donation helps make independence possible, and we are incredibly grateful to our donors, supporters, matching partners, staff, families, and community members who came together to make this day such a success. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Cassidy came to Project Independence in January 2025 for assistance with finding employment.  Six months later she was hired at Savers in Fountain Valley as Floor Staff/Cashier.  About her job at Savers, Cassidy says “I love it.  Everyone is super sweet.  All the co-workers are nice.” 

Cassidy’s Job Coach, Vivian, visits with her onsite about once a week to work on improving her communication skills with management and with customers. Cassidy is very motivated to work, always picking up extra shifts whenever she can, and working a second job as a caregiver when she is not at Savers.  Cassidy’s supervisor Beverly says Cassidy is a benefit to the store and is a hard worker.  This month Cassidy is celebrating reaching her six-month milestone for her job at Savers and looks forward to many more to come.  Congratulations Cassidy!
