To a true advocate for justice and a relentless champion for all people, especially communities of color, we say: take your rest. During my time on the City Council, and even after, Dr. Lavonia Allison was someone I could always count on for unwavering support and wise advice. In moments when I doubted myself, she reminded me of my strength and pushed me to keep fighting for what was right.

Her encouragement, resilience, and love for the community will never be forgotten. Dr. Allison, you were a guiding light and a source of inspiration. I love you and thank you for everything. Rest in power, Dr. Lavonia Allison.

Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement from the fire service. Meeting you last year was an inspiration, and I am truly grateful to have had the honor of knowing the one and only Chief Greene.

Your contributions to our city’s history and your dedication to opening doors for so many Black and Brown girls have left an indelible mark. You have been a trailblazer, a mentor, and a beacon of hope for many, and your absence will be deeply felt.

As a former city council member, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to many impactful initiatives. My greatest achievements include launching a youth mentoring program and advocating for fair pay. Being a positive and effective leader requires dedication, but with hard work, you can make a significant difference. In 2024, I’ll be supporting the Biden-Harris ticket for reelection. Our freedom, democracy, and future depend on this election.
