Help us give a warm Friends, Inc. welcome to our new Patient Support Coordinator, Sue McCoy!
We are excited to welcome Sue to the Friends, Inc. family and look forward to the compassion, experience, and heart for service she brings to our team.
In Sue’s own words:
"Hi, I’m Sue McCoy, and I’m honored to join Friends, Inc. as the new Patient Support Coordinator. I graduated from UAH with degrees in Sociology and Spanish and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Counseling at UNA. Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the North Alabama community through nonprofit roles that I have truly loved.
My experiences have included serving as a missions minister and coordinator at a local church, working as a case manager supporting individuals with disabilities, and serving as a workplace chaplain. Through these opportunities, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments, offering encouragement, support, and meaningful connection.
At Friends, Inc., I’ll be focusing on assessing patients’ situations and needs, identifying gaps in care, connecting patients and families with resources, and providing emotional and spiritual support throughout their journey. I’m excited to build relationships and help ensure the people we serve feel seen, supported, and cared for.
A little about me personally: I grew up in Southern Indiana and later moved to Georgia after high school, where I met my husband of 35 years. In 1999, we moved to the Huntsville area with our two daughters, Emily and Haley, and completed our family with twin boys, Andrew and Jacob, in January 2000. I’m also blessed with a daughter-in-law, Somer, and we are excited to welcome another daughter-in-law, Emily, in November. We have always been a close-knit family who loves playing games together on any given night. I also love to cook, watching movies, and spending as much time as possible at the beach.
I am truly excited about this opportunity with Friends Inc. and look forward to getting to know our patients, families, and volunteers."
Please join us in giving Sue a warm welcome! 💙
