We are especially grateful for the volunteers, community partners, donors, and supporters who give their time and talents to help us continue serving women and families throughout our community. Your dedication helps make our work possible. ❤️

Because of your generous support, we will be able to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in our community and help make the holiday a little brighter for those we serve.

Just a few months ago, I was scrolling through TikTok looking for a DJ playing good music and good vibes to help me get through a busy workday. That's when I found DJ Matilda and The Lion's Den. At the time, there were about 60 people in the live, but from that very first day, we all just clicked. What started as a TikTok live experience has grown into a true sisterhood and family.

About three weeks ago, DJ Matilda asked if The 1st Step Inc. was doing a back-to-school distribution this year. I told her we were, and without hesitation, she jumped into action.📚

She rallied support from her Lion's Den family and from her amazing fellow nurse colleagues, who work alongside her as a psychiatric nurse. The outpouring of generosity has been nothing short of overwhelming. 💕

We're still counting inventory and unloading my completely stuffed car, but so far we've counted:
📚 125 one-subject notebooks
📄 50 packs of notebook paper
📓 50 composition books
🎒 20 book bags
💧 30 water bottles
🖊️ 260 ink pens
🖍️ 100 boxes of crayons
🧴 60 bottles of glue and glue sticks
📁 20 three-prong folders
📝 Index cards, pencil boxes, pencils, markers, and so many other school supplies that we're still unloading and counting! (final numbers will be posted and updated)

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to DJ Matilda, your incredible nurse colleagues, The Lion's Den family, and EVERYONE who donated money, school supplies, and your time to make this possible for The 1st Step Inc. and the families we will serve.

This generosity allows several children in our community the opportunity to begin the new school year confidently with the supplies they need to feel prepared.
