If You Only Listen to One Side, You Only Get Half the Story…

During this campaign, I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. I am grateful for the support I have received from so many different people, from every side, every background, and every viewpoint. It means a lot to see folks who do not care about Republican or Democrat, but care about our kids and the foundation that helps them succeed. That kind of support far outweighs the few who have been mean or hateful along the way.

I am proud to be backed by strong community members, business minded folks, union and non union workers, teachers, bus drivers, maintenance crews, directors, aides, Republicans, Democrats, independents. People from every corner of Wayne County. People who may not agree on everything, but agree that our kids deserve the best.

Last year, I ran on a campaign of listening. Life has taught me that no matter where someone comes from or how much they know, there is always something worth learning if you are willing to listen. When you only listen to one side, you only get half the story. I want to hear from everyone because everyone has a seat at my table.

When people give me a hard time for not choosing one friend over another, I remind them that I am not going to change who I am. I will not dislike a person or a group just because someone else disagrees with them. That is not how I treat people. There is no buddy system with me. I believe in fairness, respect, and staying true to my Christian values.

You have to keep showing up, because there’s no replacement for consistency and hard work. We’re going to make this happen, and we’re going to do it for our children and for the next generation. I’m excited about the progress we’re working toward, and I’m committed to giving everything I have to keep moving us forward!

I can’t say enough good things about the Community Strong Swap 2.0. We had an absolute blast and scored some really cool stuff. Events like this are what make Wayne County special, neighbors helping neighbors, families having fun, and everyone walking away with something useful.

Honestly, it’s become one of the coolest things happening in our county. If you haven’t been part of it yet, you’re missing out on something that truly brings our community together.

I'm glad I had the chance to catch up with some of the members who make the event happen!
