Reminder! The deadline to receive the 2.5% discount on second half of 2023 taxes is Friday, March 1,2024. To pay online visit www.property taxes.com. The Department of Highway will be closing Hunter Springs Road from December 4-8, 7 am to 4 pm for canopy cutting. It will be from milepost 0.0 to 1.62. Please use alternate routes around this work area. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances may affect project schedule. Motorists are asked to observe all traffic control signs and devices and use caution while traveling near the work zone. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office would like to welcome our recent graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy. S. Burwell graduated on November 17. He will do a few weeks of field training and will definitely be a great addition to our department.

Today, is the last day to pay delinquent 2022 real estate taxes. If not paid it will be sent to the auditor at the close of the business day. These taxes must be paid in the office by credit/debit card, certified check or cash. No personal or business checks will be accepted.

These two dogs were picked up in Lindside and now are at Tri County Vet in Peterstown. They are about 10 months old, they need to find the owner. Please contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s office or the Veterinary in Peterstown to claim. Please share
