The Rotary Club of Tyrone is a member of Rotary District 6900, part of Rotary International

Rotary is a service organization that supports education and job training, helps provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio around the world - among many other humanitarian projects.

We gathered for our first meeting of the new Rotary year and reflected on the meaningful and mighty work we accomplished together as the Rotary Club of Tyrone. Although not all of our members were able to attend, the dedication and service of our entire club were very much part of the celebration.

A special highlight was honoring Dorothy Hart as our Rotarian of the Year! Dorothy is an amazing leader who embodies the spirit of Rotary and helps our members connect to the heart of our mission.

We are grateful for all we have accomplished together and excited to step into this new Rotary year with renewed energy, strong fellowship, and a shared commitment to serving our community!

Yesterday, the Rotary Club of Tyrone was honored to hear from Jeff Hill, Fire Chief of Fayette County.

Behind every emergency call is a coordinated team effort—people communicating, preparing, and serving together to protect our neighbors and save lives.

We are deeply grateful for Chief Hill and all our first responders whose courage, training, and collaboration make a life-saving difference throughout Fayette County every day!

Yesterday was a wonderful day at Southwest Christian Care!

Our member Ricky Haynes has faithfully served homemade meals to the seniors at Southwest Christian Care for many months. This month, some of our Rotarians had the joy of joining him in serving.

And what a meal it was! The best BBQ, along with delicious banana pudding made by our own Gail Joiner!

We are grateful for Ricky’s faithful heart, for all who served, and for the gift of sharing food, smiles, and fellowship with our neighbors. It was a beautiful reminder that service can be both meaningful and joyful.

A huge thank you to all the hardworking members of Tyrone Rotary who came out and put in the time, sweat, and effort today. Projects like this are what make our community stronger, cleaner, and more connected!

It’s easy to talk about making a difference but this group shows up and gets it done. Proud to be part of a team that believes in service above self and continues working to make Tyrone a better place for everyone.

Today at Tyrone Rotary, we were grateful to welcome Brian Lee from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office as our speaker. He shared helpful and practical information about ways to prevent identity theft, along with a great Q&A time with our members.

We are thankful for his time, his knowledge, and his service to our community!

We had a wonderful Rotary board meeting gathered in Carol’s beautiful garden. We’re excited about the community service opportunities ahead to care for our neighbors and make a real difference together.

We had a wonderful time at Rotary yesterday!

It was a joy to welcome two new members, Ryan and Vicki. We’re so glad they’re part of our community now!

We also had the privilege of hearing from our guest speaker, Tim Parrott, president of Parrott Funeral Home. He shared meaningful stories from his journey along with insightful perspectives that truly resonated with us.

Grateful for the connections, conversations, and continued work we share together!

✨ A Busy and Meaningful Start to 2026 for the Rotary Club of Tyrone! ✨

We’ve hit the ground running this year! 💪🌟 Our members recently donated and assembled a new signage board and picnic table for Shamrock Park, helping make this community space even more welcoming for everyone to enjoy.

At our February meeting, we were honored to hear a powerful presentation from Lisa Ivaska and Pat Burke of the Midwest Food Bank, who shared insights about their incredible work fighting hunger across our region. Our club will be volunteering on February 11th from 12:30-2:00 ~ Come and join us!

Continuing that mission, the Rotary Club of Tyrone proudly donated $1,000 to Hopewell UMC in Tyrone in support of their Fight Against Hunger efforts. On Saturday, February 7th our club will be packing meals.

Service above self in action — and we’re just getting started in 2026!
