🚒🚑🚓 Training Together. Responding Together.

Multiple first responder agencies came together today for TEEX Traffic Incident Management (TIM) training, bringing local volunteer fire departments, EMS, and law enforcement together in one room.

When an incident happens on our roadways, these agencies work side by side and training together helps ensure everyone is prepared to do so safely and effectively. This type of collaboration is important not only for first responder safety, but for the safety of the traveling public as well.

A huge thank you to all of the agencies and responders who took the time to participate today. We appreciate your commitment to training, teamwork, and serving our communities.

And a special shoutout to Scott Landreth with Texasfarmburea for providing lunch for today. We greatly appreciate your support of our local first responders. ❤️

This one hit us in our feelings a bit. ❤️ Please support your volunteers... or if you're willing and able, become a volunteer. 🫶

The fire truck that comes when you call in most of Texas is driven by somebody who was asleep in their own bed four minutes ago. 🚒

The large majority of fire departments in this state are volunteer. Not paid, not on shift, not sitting at the station waiting. They are welders and teachers and nurses and guys who run a feed store, and they carry a pager or a phone that can go off in the middle of a shower, a birthday dinner, or a Tuesday at two in the morning. Then they drive to the station, pull gear that is still damp from the last call, and go.

They pay for a lot of it themselves, or the county pays what it can, or the community does it with a barbecue plate sale and a raffle. The trucks are often older than the people driving them. And the calls are not only fires. They are wrecks out on the highway at night, grass fires running with the wind, water rescues, and cardiac calls where the closest hospital is fifty minutes away and the volunteer EMT kneeling on the floor is the only medicine in the room.

The hard part nobody outside it talks about is that in a small town you know the address before you get there. 🙏 You know whose kitchen it is. You go anyway, and then you go back to work in the morning like it was nothing.

🚒‼️‼️BURN BAN‼️‼️PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE/FORGET THAT CONDITIONS ARE CRITICAL FOR FIRES AT THIS TIME. WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE RAINS THAT ABILENE GOT LAST WEEK. BE DILIGENT TO WATCH FOR SMOKE AS EARLY FIRE DETECTION MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE OUTCOME. THANK YOU TO BILLY, WITH STEAMBOAT THAT SAW SMOKE AND CALLED CHIEF GARY TO GET THIS FIRE REPORTED. HE ALSO FOUND A WATER HOSE TO HELP STAVE OFF THE FIRE UNTIL CHIEF COULD GET A TRUCK 💪. HOMES, and FAMILIES- SOME OF WHICH HOUSE ELDERLY NEIGHBORS- WERE IN THE PATH OF THIS TOTALLY PREVENTABLE FIRE… WHOSE STARTER WAS GRANTED A $500 FINE , by the way!!! ALSO, BIG THANKS TO THE BLACKWELL FIREFIGHTER THAT WAS DRIVING BY, SAW CHIEF GETTING INTO A FIRETRUCK , AND GRABBED HIS GEAR TO HELP WITH THE INITIAL ATTACK !!

🚒🚒NOW FOR BUFFALO GAP AND VIEW VFDs THAT QUICKLY CAME TO HELP- YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST, AND HELPED “ save our bacon” LAST NIGHT 🙏🙏🙏. NEIGHBORING FIRE DEPARTMENTS ARE SO ESSENTIAL IN THESE CONDITIONS, and ECCA CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH !!

👍I cannot name all the ECCA folks that quickly came to help ❤️. Our firefighters are so faithful to drop everything and come to the aid of their neighbors and community!! Several other neighbors came to help out at the station with coolers and to help with equipment and trucks. Conversations revealed neighbors with previous plans on a Saturday night, that dropped everything AND CAME TO HELP!!!!

Thank you BIG TIME TO THE LADIES THAT RUSTLED UP 🥪 sandwiches, sausage and cheese, cookies and other snacks……. IN RECORD TIME - Yum 😋

BLESS YOU ALL , each and every one of you UNNAMED, giving, generous neighbors , FAR AND WIDE ( BGap, View, Mulberry Canyon, Blackwell ) that helped with the GOOD OUTCOME LAST NIGHT. We are so THANKFUL for the LORD’s protective hand to keep all safe 🙏❤️

We live in the BEST COMMUNITY 👍

A huge THANK YOU to the View Volunteer Fire Department and Buffalo Gap Volunteer Fire Department for providing mutual aid to ECCA today! 🚒❤️

We are incredibly grateful for our neighboring departments and the willingness to step up, answer the call, and work alongside us when we need an extra hand. This is what volunteer fire is all about......working together, supporting one another, and taking care of our communities. 🫶

We appreciate you more than you know! Stay safe out there, brothers and sisters. 🔥🤝🚒
