Bremer County and Waverly were selected for a special ISU Extenson pilot project for our nine NE Iowa Counties, The purpose is to survey and share how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can benefit senior adults on how to use this technology to support safe and healthy daily care. It will be held on Friday, June 4 and 19 after lunch at the newly remodeled Waverly Senior Center. There are five of these being held throughout Iowa, and attendees are eligible for drawings for 20 iPads.

Looking for fun, hands-on summer activities for your kids? Bremer County 4-H and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Bremer County are excited to offer 2026 Summer Day Camps!

⭐ Who can attend?
Youth who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade

🎟️ Camp Details:
• Limited to 16 campers per session – sign up early!
• Each camp offers unique themes, activities, and experiences
• Check individual camps for dates, locations, and costs
• Financial assistance available

This Saturday morning we will be planting from 8-12 at the 3/4 acre Waverly Community Sharing Garden. We can also use volunteers any Tuesday evening from 6-8pm and/or Saturday mornings from 8-10am. It is located on 2nd St SW and 5th Ave SW, one block west of Riverside Park.
We have tools, but feel free to bring your own. Last year, 12,476 pounds of fresh and healthy produce was donated to the NE IA Food Bank and the Waverly Pantry. You can volunteer when it fits your schedule and we appreciate it.
