🚧 N. Poinsett Highway Project Update 🚧

Great progress continues on the N. Poinsett Highway improvements! Stormwater and drainage work on the northbound side is complete, and the northbound lane has been freshly repaved. New pedestrian lighting is scheduled to be installed along Phase 1 in the coming weeks.

📅 Traffic Shift Coming Monday, June 8
The northbound lane will reopen, and work will move to the southbound lane, which will be closed during construction.

Follow the detour signs to access businesses along N. Poinsett Highway. All businesses will remain open and accessible throughout construction.

🚦The new traffic signal at N. Poinsett Highway and Tubbs Mountain Road is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.

Discover colorful murals, public art, and creative gems throughout Downtown Travelers Rest!

Take a stroll through downtown and experience artwork that celebrates the people, places, and spirit that make Travelers Rest unique. Several murals throughout downtown were created by local artist Adam Schrimmer of Blank Canvas Mural Co.

📍 “Hey Y’all, Welcome to Travelers Rest” – 301 S Main St.
This vibrant mural tells the story of our community through recognizable landmarks, local legends, and historical moments. Look closely to spot Coach Chico Bolin, Pop Kramer, Browns Feed & Seed, the Spring Park Inn, the Main Street Gazebo, and more.

📍 “Where Travelers Come to Rest” – 331 S Main St.
This welcoming mural captures the essence of Travelers Rest as a basecamp for adventure and a place to recharge after a day exploring the outdoors.

📍 “Do What You Love!” – 3 S Main St.
Along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, you’ll find a field of colorful poppies and an uplifting reminder to follow your passions.

📍 “I Carry Your Heart” – 106 S Main St.
This mural draws inspiration from E.E. Cummings and features a vintage-style cyclist, blooming flowers, a hare, and Paris Mountain in the distance.

From colorful murals and the Beyond the Burrow Public Art Project to local galleries and the Browse & Stroll Art Market, there are plenty of ways to discover art and creativity throughout Travelers Rest.

UPDATE: The City of Travelers Rest is making progress on the Gateway Park parking lot resurfacing project.

The parking area between Henderson Drive and the Gateway Park restrooms has been restriped and sealed and is now open to the public.

Work continues on the section of the parking lot between Sunrift Adventures and the Gateway Park restrooms. This area remains temporarily closed as resurfacing operations are completed.

Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and utilize available alternative parking areas while work is underway. Limited parking may be available during construction.

We appreciate the community's patience as these improvements are completed to enhance Gateway Park and improve the visitor experience.
