Shawnee County Public Works will close SW 93rd Street east of SW Indian Hills Road, between the addresses of 7325 SW 93rd Street and 7050 SW 93rd Street, for culvert replacement work.
Due to recent weather conditions and the time required to fabricate a new culvert, the project timeline has changed slightly. The original culvert was removed, and a temporary culvert was installed to reopen the roadway safely while the permanent replacement was being fabricated.
Initially, a longer lead time was expected for the new culvert; however, the manufacturer expedited the order due to the nature of the road closure. The new culvert has arrived on site; however, ongoing rain events have required adjustments to the construction schedule to complete the installation safely.
The roadway will close beginning at 8:30 am on Monday, June 1, 2026, to allow for installation of the new culvert. The road is expected to remain closed for up to two weeks while the work is completed, weather permitting. If weather conditions cooperate, the project may be completed sooner than anticipated.
At this time, the closure is scheduled to remain in effect through Friday, June 12, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
