We’re seeing a major uptick of OHVs, dirt bikes, pocket bikes, and e-scooters on city streets, sidewalks, and parks β€” so here we are. πŸ‘†

Before you twist that throttle, make sure you’re covered:

πŸͺͺ No license?
↳ Citation & possible impound.

πŸ“‹ No registration?
↳ Citation & possible impound.

πŸ›‘οΈ No insurance?
↳ Citation, possible impound (and a Class B Misdemeanor β€” yikes).

🚷 Sidewalks & parks?
↳ Class C Misdemeanor & possible impound. The pigeons don’t even want you there. 🐦

We get it β€” your ride is awesome. But Tooele City streets are not Moab. Keep it on the mountains or dunes β€” not in the impound lot. πŸ”οΈπŸ€˜

βœ… Mountains & Dunes. ❌ Streets, Sidewalks & Parks.

This incident occurred outside an established crosswalk. The child was taken to a local area hospital. The extent and significance of the child's injuries were not known at the time of transport. During the morning of 02/04/26, officers were following up in regards to this case. They arrived to a parking lot near the area of 1100 N 80 East, where they believed Jason Shaw, at that time a person of interest, may be. Mr. Shaw was located at this time but was inside of a parked RV. A short time later, Mr. Shaw emerged from the RV and presented a firearm. Officers responded by firing their weapons at him. Immediately after doing so, officers rendered aid to Mr. Shaw and asked for an ambulance to respond to their location. EMS arrived and pronounced Mr. Shaw deceased on scene. The State Bureau of Investigation from the Department of Public Safety responded to the scene to investigate Mr. Shaw's death.

***END OF UPDATE***

At approximately 11:12 PM last night, our officers were dispatched to Quality Quik Stop (188 N Broadway Ave.) for a male in his 40's who had been shot multiple times.
