Thank you to everyone who came out to our Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser! 🍝🚒🔥

Your support, your energy, and your hearty appetites made the night a huge success. Seeing our community pack the room and enjoy a great meal together was absolutely amazing!

Whether you bought a ticket, volunteered, donated, or just showed up ready to crush some spaghetti, thank you! We appreciate every single one of you.

We couldn’t do any of this without you and we definitely couldn’t eat all that pasta and meatballs alone! Actually we really couldn’t… The remaining food was donated to First Step Inn homeless shelter in Fall River, which will help feed the 50+ people without homes that are sheltered there.

Last night the Town of Tiverton voted to approve a new contract that was negotiated by the Towns negotiation committee and the Tiverton Firefighters. The vote was passed by a unanimous vote from the Town council. This was a joint effort by the Town and the Firefighters in moving the department forward in a positive direction. We would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and time. Also a big thank you to the residents of Tiverton for all your support. We look forward to the continuous teamwork with the Town as we continue serving the residents of Tiverton and keeping ourselves and Tiverton safe.

Today the Tiverton Fire Department says farewell to Lieutenant Jason Sargent.

Lt. Sargent served and protected the Town of Tiverton for over 6 years. Lt. Sargent was a knowledgeable Firefighter and Cardiac-EMT that had years of experience prior to his arrival in Tiverton.

Thank you for your years of service and keeping the Town of Tiverton safe. Tiverton will lose an excellent Firefighter/EMT. But we will have made a great friend. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Thank you Lieutenant, you will be missed! 🫡

The Town of Tiverton and the Tiverton Firefighter’s signed an agreement this week that the Tiverton Firefighters will receive a 10% increase with the 2.75% increase they were entitled to from this contract. Effective now.

Both parties agree this does not make the Tiverton Fire Department comparable to other departments nor does it fix the recruitment and retention crisis.

But this is a step in good faith from the Town of Tiverton to get the Fire Department where it needs to be. The Tiverton Firefighters say, “the town is willing and authorized to make us comparable in this next contract.”

The Town and the Tiverton Firefighters will be sitting down soon to start negotiating their next contract.

All upcoming applicants to the Tiverton Fire Department. We are beyond thrilled to hear you’re interested in becoming one of our own. Actually, we already feel like you’re part of the family. So we would feel remorseful if we weren’t truthful with you, there are some things you should know:

The Town violated the agreement with the union and changed wages just for you and only you! You might see $52,000 dollars when Tiverton advertises but that was something that was never agreed upon.

In fact there is no agreement or paper out there what so ever that says we agreed or negotiated this. Wages are something that needs to be agreed upon by both parties. If you don’t believe us, just ask the town for a paper signed by the union that agreed to this! All we have done is portrayed the truth.

Just as we finally sat down to try and negotiate, the town unilaterally changed probationary salaries giving a 37% raise for only you. While the men that have been here for years dedicating their lives to this Town and Fire Department received a 0% raise.

IAFF 1703 has filed a grievance on this matter due to the town changing the contract without us agreeing to it.

There will be an arbitration hearing regarding this matter. The town will lose in arbitration, and most likely the town will make you pay them back every cent so save your pennies.

We would like to thank Portsmouth Rhode Island Firefighters, Little Compton Firefighter's Association - IAFF Local 3957, Westport Firefighters IAFF L-1802 and IBPO Local 406 Tiverton PD for assisting us with our 7 mutual aid calls yesterday when no rescues were available or delayed. As well as City of Fall River Emergency Medical Services in recent days. Thank you for helping us keep the Town of Tiverton safe and assisting us during this difficult time.
