We have a new resource for the area!

⭐️ Membership Monday ⭐️

🔴 Please welcome Sarah with Confident Mamas serving families around the Tinker AFB Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition areas.

⚪️ Sarah is a veteran and understands the meaning of having a village in place to lean on in times of need. As a doula, she understands that being pregnant is one of those times you need a village. Sarah strives to give her clients the opportunity to find someone who supports, listens, informs and educates them in matters of prenatal, breastfeeding, labor and beginning stages of postpartum care.

Did you know on average a doula training can start about $500 and increases up from there? This does not always include membership costs or additional fees to cover materials or business expenses.

While there are pathways to have training costs covered and some doula training organizations may offer a discount, these are not always easily accessible or limited to who can participate.

MBRNPC sees that need and wants to provide opportunities for trainings to be more affordable and attainable as Military Spouses and Service members look to begin their career as a doula.

By donating we can also help bridge the gap for doula support at installations where access to doulas who have base access and understand the needs of military families can be very limited.

You can start here!

We have been patiently waiting to announce our partnership with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership as a Spouse Ambassador. MBRNPC is honored to be joining the ranks alongside the list of other outstanding programs that support military spouses and families.

We look forward to educating our community, connecting and creating pathways for Military Spouses to begin their journey as a birth professional and provide services to their military community.

MBNRPC is proudly celebrating an achievement in becoming an officially recognized Military Spouse Owned Enterprise. The U.S. Military Spouse Chamber of Commerce created the first and only of its kind certification, in an unprecedented commitment to land military spouses a seat at the B2B table for the first time in history.
The United States has long been defended by members of the armed forces and in a silent role, military spouses support those service members. Cost of living in the U.S. often warrants dual household incomes to cope with high living expenses. Military families give up a lot in the name of freedom, from constant relocations, and time away from family, to the difficult reality that finding a career that fits this lifestyle continues to be a challenge. Secure employment for spouses continues to be an enduring sacrifice with military spouse unemployment being four times the national average, pre-pandemic.
Military spouse employment is a hot topic within the military space with hundreds of organizations working to provide solutions, improve policy, and increase opportunities for traditional employment. Traditional employment is only half of the picture. As the challenge to obtain traditional employment lingers more military spouse are turning to entrepreneurship with 48% of spouses having been self-employed or operating their own business.
As we continue building and providing resources for our communities around the world, we believe this recognition aligns with our goals of growing the birth professional community at duty stations globally.

Happy Holidays from all of us at the Military Birth Resource Network and Postpartum Coalition.

As we reflect on 2023, we have so much to be grateful for. We have grown our Coalition, added network members, recruited amazing ambassadors, and worked on a lot of policy. With these accomplishments came some disappointment as well. While we lost some major issues in the 2024 NDAA, we are proud of the way this group (you included!) came together and pushed for more support for growing families in the military. Legislators and other organizations have taken notice and with you alongside us, we know that this work will continue to grow and evolve. Thank you for your passion and commitment to our mission and we can’t wait for you to join us in or work for 2024.

Be on the lookout for some updates, events, and opportunities coming soon! Wishing you all an amazing holiday season and we’ll see you in 2024!

Have you ever felt that there’s a stigma against service members seeking mental health counseling? How has this impacted women service members who need additional support after giving birth? We’d love to hear your experiences in the comments!
