Our Board Assistant Sandra Guerrero is simply amazing! We are so fortunate to have her working with our board and Riverside County Office of Education!
At last night's Riverside County Board of Education (RCBE) meeting, Board President Barbara Hale surprised Administrative Assistant to the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools and RCBE Secretary, Sandra Guerrero, with the news that she is this year's Milo P. Johnson Award of Distinction recipient.
Since 1999, RCBE has bestowed this honor to a Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) employee who demonstrates and possesses traits and characteristics such as continuously seeking opportunities to innovate, improve, and expand their services; understanding their role in contributing to student success, and providing service that are prompt, courteous, honest, and accurate in anticipating and responding to the needs of those we serve.
Board Member Romero shared some reasons why they chose Ms. Guerrero for this honor, stating that she has "Always had a commitment to the work and more importantly to the students, and to all of her colleagues."
Having worked at RCOE since 2007, the RCBE members feel they are fortunate to benefit from Sandra’s experience and exceptional service. She has provided excellent support to the numerous Board committees, meetings, workshops and retreats, keeping the Board on the right side of all policies, procedures, new trustee appointments, and legal requirements.
Sandra has also supported several district Board Administrative Assistants through complicated, sensitive, and legal matters. Her expertise has been invaluable during appointments and recall efforts, school district boundary petitions, and supporting our County and Joint County (San Bernardino and Riverside) School Board associations.
For exhibiting outstanding customer service, and generously assisting many Inland Empire school districts, educational organizations, and numerous internal and external partners, the Board was proud to name Sandra Guerrero as the 2023 Milo P. Johnson awardee.
