Today, Mrs. Hobbs’ students used Virtual Reality to experience a "Day in the Life” of different professionals, exploring careers in fields like medicine, engineering and the trades.

Students are bringing history to life by creating Colonial Regions travel brochures promoting the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies. They’re researching, collaborating, and using what they’ve learned to convince others why their colonial region is the place to be!

A few snapshots from Mrs. Milam’s 6th Grade World Cultures class gallery walk today! 🌎📊 Students analyzed population pyramids to explore how and why a country’s population can grow, decline, or remain stable over time. Great thinking and discussion happening in the classroom!

7th Grade RLA📚

“Students worked collaboratively on a Character Matrix Jigsaw, using the text to analyze their assigned character. They examined physical descriptions, the character’s role within the group, and what those details reveal about the character, supporting their observations with specific text evidence.

Each group became the “expert” on a different character, which gave students an opportunity to discuss their thinking, compare interpretations, and justify their ideas using the text. I loved seeing them spread out around the room, books open, working together and going back to the text to support their thinking!

It was a great way to move character analysis beyond simply identifying traits and get them thinking about how an author develops characters through details and characterization.” - Mrs. Bowlin

Mrs. Thomas noted,
“The day before reading Chp 1, we challenged groups to quickly hunt for definitions of vocabulary words.”

Ms. Jordan, Mrs. Thomas, and Mrs. Bowlin make their rooms an exciting place to learn!

Mrs. Terrell’s students are putting their creativity and digital design skills to work using Piskel, a game animation platform! In this lesson, students are designing a potion bottle while learning how to use layers to create their own animated GIFs.
