Graduation season has come upon Conroe Independent School District!! 7 CISD graduations with approximately 5,400 seniors graduating in the class of 2026:

Conroe High School: 1,300
The Woodlands High School: 1,070
Grand Oaks High School: 930
College Park High School: 730
Caney Creek High School: 630
Oak Ridge High School: 630
Washington High School: 104

What an amazing accomplishment. I pray we’ve prepared you to be college, career, and military ready (CCMR) with the soft and hard skills needed for the real world.

As a Principal mentioned during a speech today, this is the beginning, not the end. You have your whole life ahead of you, and I pray it’s filled with hope and good things for your future!

One of the reasons I ran for the school board was to better prepare our young people for the workforce. I’ve spent a substantial part of my career focused on youth workforce development. We have an AWESOME CTE department at Conroe Independent School District (shoutout to Tally Jo Stout)! I would love to see it expanded, particularly with the apprenticeships and industrial based certifications (IBC) we offer.

I know State Rep GOP nominee for HD 15, Brad Bailey, feels the same way, and we had a great initial conversation the other day about legislation we can write to strengthen our programs.

My question is, what IBCs or trades would you like to see offered in CISD that are not currently there? How can we connect better with employers in this county to be a bridge to employment and internships? I know we’re going to connect with the Texas Workforce Commission at some point. Would love to hear the community’s thoughts on this.

Promises made are promises kept - CISD is getting DOGE’d!!

I’ve condensed a 45 minute conversation to 2 minutes so please listen. I asked for a software inventory to be done, which to my knowledge, had NEVER been done before.

We discovered the district was using over 6,000 applications and spending almost $10 million annually!! We have started the consolidation and efficiency process (with care and intentionality) and anticipate saving close to $2 million ultimately.

Not only are we saving money, we’re making learning tools equitable and accessible across ALL campuses and we’re improving online safety so our students’ data is better protected and monitored.

This is the efficiency we’ve been talking about and will continue to push for. Go watch the last audit committee meeting for more details.

What a great way to celebrate Teacher Appreciation month with a Salute to Education Award ceremony! We acknowledged a friend of education, humanitarian of the year, rising star, and teacher of the year from every campus last night. I’m so proud of each of you!

A special shoutout to Frances Evans and Leslie Ross for winning the district secondary teacher of the year and district elementary teacher of the year, respectively. What a huge honor. I’m excited we were able to partner with Woodforest National Bank this year, which allowed us to give $7,500 bonuses to these winners. Thank you for your generosity Woodforest!

CISD staff, we truly appreciate you giving your heart and soul to this district everyday! ❤️

Let’s talk about the Texas Standard for a moment. What is it? IMO, it’s one of the most important initiatives Conroe ISD is working on.

It’s a unified framework designed to equip every student for success in school, career, and life. It’s about helping students understand who they are and building strong relationships and CHARACTER.

Ultimately, it’s about increasing HOPE. If these students don’t have hope for their futures, it’s hard to find the motivation to do much of anything. I’ll attach more info in the comments. This is going to be a game changer for CISD.

We literally couldn’t do it without you. A special shoutout to my children’s Principal at Galatas Elementary, Conroe ISD, Mrs. Mathis. You and your staff take such great care of my babies! ❤️

Thankful that our Board has such amazing support from conservative leaders in our state. Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Dan Patrick, Senator Brandon Creighton, Congressional nominee Steve Toth, State Rep nominee Brad Bailey, and so many others. We appreciate you all so much! To hear the Lt. Gov talk about the progress made in CISD was a real highlight. Thank you Texas Youth Summit for a great event.

I want to give a massive shoutout to our CFO, Karen Garza, and her team for making this possible. They are working incredibly hard to be responsible stewards of your taxpayer funds. I’m also excited to see some upcoming results of audits I’ve asked for, which I anticipate will bring even more efficiencies!
