As a County Supervisor I feel as though I need to address the states issue on water. It’s rumored that the Governor and several of our legislators and other county supervisors are in favor of the entire state to be AMA ( active water management area). This may work for parts of our state but I don’t agree that it is the right thing for our area. This is just more government control over our ground water, regulations that take control of who can pump water and regulate how much. I believe that farmers and ranchers along with our municipalities can work together and be stewards of our water, we certainly do not need the government, including me as a supervisor to tell the citizens of Graham County what they can do with their water rights on their private property! I will do whatever I can do to protect your rights for our water in Graham County for all of you, farmers, ranchers and the individuals of this community.

Had the opportunity to attend the mock car accident put on by the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition today.
What a eye opening experience this is for the valley, all local law enforcement, EMTs, fire departments, helicopter services, and all other emergency services are involved
All of the schools were present with students witnessing a mock car accident involving underage drinking and driving and the consequences that follow.

Had the opportunity to attend the Aravaipa Watershed Conservation Alliance meeting this morning. Very worthy cause from a newly formed organization to preserve and enhance their watershed for future generations.

It was a honor to be selected to serve on congressman Juan Ciscomani’s advisory council. I have had the opportunity to get to know Juan over the past year and truly believe he will be a true representative to the citizens of rural Arizona and help us on the issues that matter. Border security, water and infrastructure!!

It’s that time for all of us to excercise our privilege to vote. It doesn’t matter what your position is but it matters to your family, friends and all Americans. If you don’t vote for the officials and issues then you have no right to complain.
