Republican Candidate for Spencer County Sheriff – Jonathan Bentley
Jonathan Bentley was born and raised in Spencer County and is a seasoned local, spending his time familiarizing himself with the land and locations surrounding him. He graduated from Spencer County High School in 1993. He has been a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge since 2013. Bentley has deep roots running through Spencer County as most of his family are from the county. He resides in the Little Mount area with his wife Trina and has two sons.
Jonathan is familiar with the inner workings of the Sheriff’s Office and knows what it takes to run the office with efficiency and integrity. Jonathan went through the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Academy in 2011 and became Spencer County’s Chief Deputy from 2011-2019. He is dedicated to learning and keeping up with the most recent and effective training. Jonathan is a Field Training Officer and a Fi****ms Instructor certified by the Department of Criminal Justice. He has been through the trainings on what is needed to run an impeccable office. He has taken several courses such as Rapid Deployment/Active Shooter, Duties of the Sheriff’s Office, Police Executive Command as well as Sheriff’s Executive Command.
Jonathan joined the Frankfort Police Department in December 2019. Since joining the department, he has had the honor to become part of the Frankfort Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and is an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He has the commitment, courage, integrity, loyalty, responsibility and service that it takes to be part of these. He takes it to heart and lives by it every day.
His goal is to foster good relations with all residents and other government agencies to provide the law enforcement Spencer County deserves. By working together, we can decrease the incidence of crime and help forwarding the community as whole. He wants to ensure the wellbeing of every citizen within the jurisdiction and lend a hand whenever needed.
