Our organization name means "the best for women" and that's what we strive to achieve. The name Soroptimist means “the best for women” and that is what this organization strives to achieve. Soroptimist is an international organization of business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in our local communities and throughout the world. Through the Soroptimist organization, the members of SI Tampa are connected to over 80,000 Soroptimists in 120 countries around the world who volunteer time and contribute financial support to community-based and international projects. Worldwide, Soroptimists are women of different professions, different nationalities, different cultures and races, different languages—but we share a common goal to improve the lives of women and girls.
