(Big Bend AHEC) is a nationally recognized not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors who are local health care professionals, educators, and community leaders who represent the health needs of the communities we serve. Big Bend AHEC is a member of the Florida AHEC Network, an affiliation of 10 locally governed AHEC’s and five AHEC Program Offices located at each of the Colleges

of Medicine in Florida. Our mission is to create and enhance community and academic partnerships to improve the health of rural and medically underserved populations. The Tobacco Free Florida AHEC Program offers FREE Group Quit classes in the community to help people quit tobacco for good. Join via Zoom on a phone, tablet, or computer, or call in by phone. Join the Florida Public Health Scholars Summer Program and discover careers that improve the health of communities across Florida and beyond.

📅 June 10–July 17, 2026
(No activities June 29–July 5)

Program includes:
💻 Self-paced online modules
🎤 Live webinars with Public Health professionals
🏥 One in-person Public Health experience

✔️ No cost to participate
