supported by voluntary, tax-deductible donations and private grants, and does not accept government funding. Donations provide a solid, lasting foundation that has enabled Florida TaxWatch to bring about a more effective, responsive government that is more accountable to, and productive for, the citizens it serves since 1979.

The 2026 Principal Leadership Award Summit was a beautiful event! This event, hosted at Keiser University in Tampa Florida on June 2nd 2026, showcased and celebrated the hard working principals behind the success of so many elementary, middle, and high school students. We are extremely proud to be celebrating these extravagant leaders who are dedicated to making sure their students continue to be successful in not only their career, but in life

Florida TaxWatch established the Principal Leadership Awards program in 2013 to identify Florida’s most effective principals in high-risk K-12 public schools, recognize and reward their work, promote their transformational practices throughout the state of Florida, and each principal chooses one student to receive a $2,000 Florida Prepaid College Plans Scholarship. The goal of the program is to improve student achievement in high-risk schools, thereby closing the achievement gap.
