The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service reminds drivers across the reservation that distracted driving is dangerous, claiming 3,208 lives in 2024, according to the NHTSA.

πŸ‘‰ Distracted driving is any activity that diverts attention from driving, including looking at or using your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, even adjusting the radio or navigation system.

Sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for at least 5 seconds, which is enough time to cross an entire football field with your eyes closed. 🀳

It is illegal to text while driving in Oklahoma with a penalty of up to $100. πŸ“΅

The Cherokee Nation Marshals remind all drivers that safe driving requires 100% of the driver's attention at all times.
