Please avoid any burning today if possible!

A dry cold front will pass through Oklahoma today over very dry wildland fuels spiking fire danger indices this afternoon. Any going fire will be challenged by the clockwise wind shift coupled with increasing wind speeds placing emphasis on the eastern and southern flanks of wildfires.

Recent fire activity will also be challenged by a different wind direction and strong wind speeds meriting thorough patrol and mop up efforts this morning.

🔥Report any suspected wildfire activity to 911.
Avoid areas where wildfire activity is ongoing and do not drive into smoke.
🔥Heed evacuation notifications from local authorities.
🔥Please avoid any activity that may spark a wildfire!

Cherokee County is under a county wide burn ban, issued by the County Commissioners, to remain in effect for fourteen (14) days from today.

🛑Scheduled Outage🛑

Our water department will be replacing a fire hydrant tomorrow 2/4/26 from 8am-2:30pm. The area affected will be N. Morris avenue and the 700 block of west Delaware. During this time in this area, the water will be off.

Celebrated retired Tahlequah Fire Fighter Harold Dunlap’s 95th birthday this morning. Started with a morning breakfast cooked by some of the firefighters and then celebrated with cake and a game of dominoes.

📌 Cherokee Nation Emergency Medical Services will be accepting donations at the Tahlequah Walmart for their annual “Stuff the Ambulance” drive. Our crews will be collecting toys and other items for the children of Cherokee Nation Indian Child Welfare. EMS staff will be accepting donations from Thursday, Dec. 12 through Saturday, Dec. 14. The 2024 CCSO Toy Drive will be in Norris Park in downtown Tahlequah. We can only accept new, unopened items (and cash) due to the needs of the kids we donate the toys to.

Please come out and see us Friday November 22nd 10am to 10pm, Saturday November 23rd 10am to 10pm and Sunday November 24th 10am to 10pm.
