šŸŽØ Don’t Do It, Donnie – Paint Edition! šŸŽØ

Donnie thought tossing leftover paint into the trash can was no big deal… until the Recycle Referees showed up. 🚫

Liquid paint should never be thrown into the trash or recycling can. Improperly disposed paint can leak out of carts, damage streets, clog storm drains, and harm the environment.

āœ… Here’s the right way to dispose of paint:
• Let leftover paint dry out completely until it’s solid, then place it in your black trash can
OR
• Schedule a household hazardous waste pickup for safe disposal

šŸ”„ Important Reminder:
NEVER place hazardous waste or batteries in your trash or recycle can.

We recently experienced another truck fire in our community—caused by hazardous waste placed in a curbside can.

Inside a truck, items like lithium batteries and other hazardous materials can spark, ignite, and quickly turn into a dangerous fire. This puts our drivers, equipment, and community at serious risk.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. The driver acted quickly and safely dumped the load in the street so firefighters could put out the fire.

Hazardous Waste includes:
• Lithium batteries (rechargeable)
• Chemicals, oil/gas, pressurized containers

• Anything labeled flammable, corrosive, or reactive

One small item in the wrong place can cause a big problem.

šŸ’” Instead: Call Surprise Customer Service to schedule a Household Hazardous Waste pickup.

Let’s work together to keep our drivers safe and prevent these fires. ā™»ļø
