I, Luis E. Padilla, am seeking re-election for the Town of Sunset's Chief of Police position. It has been an honor an privilege to serve in this capacity for the past seven and a half years. I have enjoyed meeting and working with the incredible citizens that make Sunset amazing. I will continue to focus on keeping all citizens of Sunset well-protected.
As Sunset's Chief of Police, I have worked many hours to better our police department. In the seven and a half years as chief, I have established a professional relationship with the mayor and town council, the department has obtained new computer-equipped police vehicles, all officers are Post certified, and we have implemented a Junior Police mentoring program. In addition, the Sunset Traffic Enforcement Program has been put in place to control traffic violators as well as numerous other criminal activities that are enforced throughout our community. I have put smiles on many children's faces during the Easter and Christmas seasons by donating toys and prizes to our town children. We have a beautiful middle school in our community, in which we ensure the safety of our children and faculty during school hours and after school hours. We also have an awesome French Immersion School in our community that my department and I are always available to assist at any time. These assignments and duties have been completed along with the help of our well-trained and qualified police officers. I would like to see Sunset continue to grow. As it continues to grow, I pledge to serve and protect all citizens and businesses. The elderly can ensure that the police officers, under my leadership, will provide extra patrol for their safety. I will continue being actively involved in our schools. I want to continue with education opportunities to always be abreast of new police information. My door is always open and will continue to be. I look forward to visiting with all of our outstanding town citizens.
