📚✏️ It may still be summer, but we’re already getting excited to welcome our students back for the 2026–2027 school year!

Big Walnut Local Schools will once again begin the year with staggered starts to help students ease back into routines and classrooms.

🦅 Thursday, August 20 — Students with last names A–K report
🦅 Friday, August 21 — Students with last names L–Z report
🦅 Monday, August 24 — ALL students report

📌 Early Learning Center families:
ELC students will attend on their assigned staggered start day (Thursday or Friday), then transition back to the regular Monday–Thursday schedule for the remainder of the school year.

We can’t wait to welcome our Eagles back for another amazing year! ❤️💛

⚠️ SCAM ALERT — Local Businesses

We have just learned that local businesses are receiving fraudulent emails soliciting t-shirt sponsorships, with the emails falsely using the name of a district staff member. The district has not authorized any such solicitation.

If your business received one of these emails, do not respond or send payment.

If you have questions about sponsorship opportunities, contact Athletic Director Brian Shelton directly at 740-965-7778.

🚗🛑 Here are the official drop-off and pick-up times for the 2026–27 school year at Big Walnut!

Please remember: While you may line up for drop-off before doors open, students will not be allowed into the buildings until their designated times.

📌 Students who enter the building after the official start time will be marked tardy—please plan accordingly to avoid being late!

🚨 The NEW Big Walnut Local Schools website is officially LIVE! 🦅✨

After months of planning, building, testing, revising, fixing, tweaking, (too much) troubleshooting, and definitely a few too many browser refreshes… we’re excited to finally share the new digital home for Big Walnut Local Schools!

The new site features:
📱 A cleaner, mobile-friendly design
📰 Easier access to news, calendars, and important updates
🏫 Dedicated websites for every school building (with more simple urls!)
🤖 New AI-powered “Ask the Eagle” helpers

School may be out for the summer, but we’re still smiling looking back at General Rosecrans Elementary’s Field Day! ☀️💦

The temperatures were soaring, but that didn’t slow anyone down. From bounce houses and parachute games to tug-of-war battles and inflatable obstacle courses, our Golden Eagles packed the field with nonstop energy and fun! 🦅

A perfect reminder that some of the best school memories are made outside the classroom. ❤️💛
