Did you know calves don’t always have to be completely separated from their moms during weaning?
We’re fortunate to be able to use nose-to-nose weaning, where calves and cows can still see, smell, and interact with each other through a fence. This can help make the transition a lower-stress experience for both.
For us, low-stress handling is an important part of caring for our herd. 🐄🌱
