The Town of Strasburg's 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is now available. This report provides important information about the source of your water and how it compares to state and federal quality standards.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦: 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐚𝐡 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫.

- Water is treated at the Strasburg Water Treatment Plant using multiple processes to remove impurities, disinfect against germs, and add fluoride to help protect teeth.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬:
- Natural minerals, such as fluoride and barium
- Potential contaminants from agriculture, runoff, or older plumbing systems
- Lead and copper from household pipes
- Disinfection byproducts created during water treatment

𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 - 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: No unsafe lead levels were found. If your home has older plumbing, consider flushing taps for 1–2 minutes before use or using a certified filter.

- 𝐒𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦: Detected at 16.7 mg/L. This level is safe for most, but those on a very low-sodium diet may want to consult a physician.

- 𝐏𝐅𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: As part of a 2023 national monitoring program, we tested for PFAS (synthetic chemicals found in many consumer products). None were found above the minimum reporting levels

Town Hall will be closed on 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, in observance of Memorial Day.

Waste Management will not be collecting trash on Monday due to the holiday. All trash collection routes will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

▪️Monday customers will be collected Tuesday.
▪️Tuesday customers will be collected Wednesday.
▪️Wednesday customers will be collected Thursday.
▪️Thursday customers will be collected Friday.

What a fantastic day of community spirit, teamwork, and hometown pride!

Today, students from Strasburg High School traded their desks for trash bags and spent the day giving back to the community through a volunteer clean-up organized by Principal Melissa Foltz. Students worked throughout Town, helping to clean up along the Riverwalk, the Town Park, Little League fields, the Town Run, and Hometown Park.

They were joined by teachers, Town staff, Strasburg Police Department, Shenandoah County Dept of Fire and Rescue, and Councilmen Carter and Price, who all rolled up their sleeves and jumped right in. In fact, some of the firefighters and students literally jumped right in… in the water. Safe to say a few shoes may still be drying out tonight.

From picking up litter to sharing laughs along the way, the day was filled with hard work, learning experiences, and plenty of memories. It turns out community service goes a lot faster when you have great company, good attitudes, and a little friendly competition over who found the strangest piece of trash.

The Town of Strasburg truly values our partnership with our schools and the positive relationship we continue to build together. Seeing students take pride in their community and volunteer their time is inspiring and reminds us all that leadership starts at every age.

We are incredibly grateful to Principal Foltz for organizing this meaningful day and to every student, teacher, staff member, police officer, firefighter, and volunteer who participated. The future of Strasburg is bright, hardworking, and clearly not afraid to get a little dirty or a little wet for a good cause.

We hope this tradition continues for many years to come. Thank you, Strasburg High School, for helping keep our community beautiful and showing what hometown pride is all about!
