There's nothing like those First Day of School photos! But before you post, School Resource Officer Sullivan wants to remind parents that what seems like a harmless detail can provide valuable information to the wrong person.

Try keeping details private including:
🚫 Full name
🚫 School name
🚫 Teacher’s name
🚫 Classroom or bus information
🚫 Home address or other personal details
🚫 Date of Birth

Every piece of information can help a stranger build a picture of your child and potentially use it to gain their trust or deceive them. Celebrate the moment. Protect the information.

It's Primary Day!

Today is Election Day for the Minnesota Statewide Primary Election. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. You have the right to vote if you are in line by 8 p.m.

Find your polling place: Mnvotes.gov/pollfinder

Mail ballots may be dropped off at one of these Vote Center locations until 5 p.m.:

You still have time to get a few more swims in at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.

The Swim Pond at Lake Elmo Park Reserve will be closed for the season on Sunday, August 23. After the swim pond closes, it will be drained for seasonal maintenance. Make the most of these last few weeks to enjoy the swim pond this year!

Washington Countyhas both a Northern Environmental Center in Forest Lake and a Southern Environmental Center in Woodbury that will accept your safely packaged sharps.

Using weight loss injections? Keep everyone safe! Place used injector pens in a sturdy container (like a detergent bottle) with the cap screwed on. Label it “SHARPS” and drop off at a Ramsey or Washington county environmental center. Your small step prevents injuries to waste workers!

Did you know Tuesday's and Thursday's you can get a lift for $1 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM?

Transit Link On-Demand fares are now $1.

On-demand services are available in Forest Lake and Stillwater areas on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Book your trip through the Metro micro app or by calling 651-602-LINK (5465).

Note: There is no change to Transit Link's regular Monday-Friday service fares. The $1 fare only applies to on-demand trips.
