Established in 1924, the YWCA of the Sauk Valley is the local women’s center. We are one of about 250 YWCAs in this country, and we join our sister associations in working to achieve our shared mission.

our programs

domestic violence program: Services for adult and child victims of domestic violence and abuser groups to teach non-violent behaviors.

sexual assault program: We are the rape crisis center for the Sauk Valley. We offer our services 24 hours a day.

women's economic empowerment services: In our Empowerment Center, Upper First Avenue, women find a variety of services to help them obtain or increase their level of employment. Including computer training, job search assistance, money management classes and free, professional clothing.

community services: Includes the programs TechGYRLS, Girls’ Space, Diversity & Racial Justice Training, & Immigrant Family Resource Program and more.

Each year we sponsor events like these: Week Without Violence, Juneteenth community Freedom Festival, Martin Luther King, Jr. CommUNITY Celebration of Peace & Justice, and the Women of Achievement Luncheon.
