Good evening Blue Devil Families!
This is your principal, Mrs. Rhyne with your final weekly message of our 2025-2026 school year:

We are so proud of the work our students have done on their state testing and retesting the past two weeks! Everyone worked very hard and it shows!!!!
We will wrap up with our 8th Grade Science retest and all make up testing tomorrow.

Our end of year celebrations will take place this week:

Mr. Cornish's Class Awards will be on Monday at 10:30 and all parents are invited to attend.

7th grade awards will be on Tuesday at 9:00 and 6th grade awards will be on Tuesday at 11:00.
All students receiving an award should have been given a notification to give their parents.

8th grade awards will be on Wednesday at 9:00. All parents are invited to attend since there will be an 8th grade slideshow shown at this time.

If you plan to attend any of the awards ceremonies at SMS this week, please know we will have a no bag policy for all visitors and all attendees will have to go through our metal detection. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you all soon!

We invite all SMS Student Athletes and their families to join us tomorrow evening for our Athletic Awards. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 in the gym.

All classes will have a Yearbook signing time tomorrow during their Core Plus time. If your child did not purchase a yearbook, they are welcome to bring a notebook. Please discuss with your child the importance of writing respectful messages in other yearbooks.

Our 8th graders will have their 8th Grade Picnic on Tuesday. All 8th grade students are encouraged to bring towels, sunglasses, hats and sunscreen. Please continue to follow our school dress code. There are no bookbags needed for this day!

Report Cards will be distributed to students on the last day of school this year. No report cards will be mailed.
Parents will also be able to pick up report cards on May 22 from 9:00-3:00 and the week of May 26-29 from 9:00-3:00. You will need to have a picture ID with you for pick up.
This information will also be available in Infinite Campus.

We appreciate the opportunity to teach your child this year and already look forward to seeing them on August 12th!
To our 8th graders, we wish you the absolute best as you head to off high school! Remember.....once a Blue Devil, always a Blue Devil!

Good evening Blue Devil families!
Happy Mothers Day to all of our Blue Devil Mamas today!
We had a very busy week last week but also have many things to celebrate:
Teacher Appreciation Week was GREAT! Thank you to our amazing PTO, families, students and community partners for all they did for our staff.
We had an amazing Chorus concert on Tuesday. Thank you to Mr. Myin for such a great musical performance!
Let’s hear it for the Baseball Team!!!! We WON the Championship by defeating Belmont on Wednesday! We are now 3 time back to back CHAMPIONS! Congratulations to Coach Radford, assistant coaches and team!! We are so proud of you!
We completed 2 days of testing!!!!! Our work is not done. We still have make-up testing, retesting and the 8th grade Science EOGs left to go! We are excited to be able to offer retesting to all students that scored a "not proficient" on their test(s) this year. We hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to show what they know in efforts to get the best score they can possibly get!

Monday, May 11th- PTO Meeting (CANCELLED)
Tuesday, May 12th- 8th Grade Science EOG & 6th/7th Grade Reading Retest
Thursday, May 14th- 6th & 7th Grade Math Retest, 8th Grade Reading Retest
Friday, May 15th- 8th Grade Math Retest

Looking ahead:
Monday, May 18th- 8th Grade Science Retest, SMS Sports Awards at 6:00
May 19th- 8th Grade Picnic for student only, 7th Grade Awards @ 9:00, 6th Grade Awards at 11:00
May 20th- 8th Grade Awards @ 9:00, Last day of school

We will offer pick up days for those not attending school on the last day to be able to pick up their report cards.

⚾🏆 County Champs: Three-peat! 🏆⚾

Congratulations to our SMS baseball team on winning the county championship for the third year in a row with a final score of 7 to 3 against Belmont Middle!👏 This accomplishment reflects the hard work, teamwork, and commitment our players and coaches have shown all season.

Way to go to our athletes and coaches on an outstanding run. 💙😈🩵
