🚀 We are full STEAM ahead at SMS! 💡

🧈 Mrs. Withers 6th grade Science is reviewing phases of matter by turning a liquid to a solid. They made homemade butter! 🧑‍🍳

🦶 🩼 Students in Mrs. Reeves Project Lead the Way CTE classes came up with a prototype for a brace for children with Cerebral Palsy. The brace should encourage them to walk normally instead of walking on their tip toes. 🥾

💊 🎥 Our Paxton Patterson Lab is up and running with Ms. White! Students are getting hands on experiences with various careers…all that include using STEAM! 🦵 💅

Good evening Blue Devil Families!
This is your principal, Mrs. Rhyne with information about our upcoming week:

Please remember that there will be no school tomorrow for the Labor Day holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!

As of right now, here is the update for our buses this week:
Bus 122: No PM route on Thursday
Bus 124: Will run a 2nd load PM route on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students will stay
at school until 4:30.
No PM route on Thursday & Friday
Bus 176: No PM Route on Wednesday
No AM or PM on Friday
Bus 524: Will run a 2nd load PM route on Tuesday and Thursday. Students will stay
at school until 4:40.
No PM route on Wednesday

As much as we try to avoid canceling buses we have no other options at the moment. Please try to make arrangements for your child's afternoon transportation on the days buses are canceled. If circumstances change, we will let you know.

Also, students that ride bus 524 in the mornings, please know that due to other school traffic issues your pick up times may vary 15 minutes +/-.

7th graders who have not received their Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines will need to get these by September 10th.

We will have Fall Pictures on Thursday, September 10th. Information was sent home with your child last week. All students will need to have their picture taken as we will use these pictures in our yearbook.

Looking ahead:

There will be no school for students on Wednesday, September 16th due to a mandatory teacher workday.

In athletics this week:

Our Softball team will host Cramerton Middle at home on Tuesday.
We will have a home Football game on Wednesday against WC Friday.
Softball will travel to BCMS on Thursday for their game.

Please remember ticket prices to all athletic events have increased to $7 this year and all schools have a "no bag" policy.
Tickets may now be purchased on https://events.hometownticketing.com/. These tickets will be scanned at the gate for admittance into our games. Cash will also be accepted the day of at the gate.

We want to wish all of our athletes and their coaches luck as they compete this week.

💙 WE’RE ON THE MOVE, BLUE DEVILS! 💙

We are excited to celebrate some BIG news at Stanley Middle School! 📈🎉

Our school performance score increased by 3 points! This growth is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students, teachers, staff, and families. We are incredibly proud of the progress our Blue Devils are making! 👏

And we’re not stopping here… if we grow just 2 more points this year, Stanley Middle School will become a “B” school! 🅱️🔥 🐝

That goal is within reach, and we are ready to GAME ON! 🏆

Thank you to our amazing teachers and staff for believing in our students, to our families for partnering with us, and most importantly, to our students for continuing to work hard and push themselves every day.

TEST RESULTS ARE IN: Today, the State Board of Education released testing and accountability data for the 2025-2026, and there is good news for Gaston County Schools.
