Help us test a new way to explore Long Island Sound!

The new Long Island Sound Public Access Map for the New York portion of the watershed is now live, and we're looking for feedback during this pilot phase.

Whether you're searching for a beach, boat launch, fishing spot, or place to paddle, the map can help you discover public access sites around the Sound. Give it a try and let us know about your experience so we can make the tool even better.

Saturday was a gorgeous day for CT Trails Day at Rocky Neck State Park!

The Long Island Sound Partnership joined The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut, Connecticut National Estuarine Research Reserve, Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP), Connecticut State Parks, and Connecticut Sea Grant for guided hikes and family activities celebrating the outdoors.

One highlight? Community mural painting, which may have been just as popular with the adults as it was with the kids!

Congratulations to the seven Connecticut recipients of the 2026 Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund!

Today, partners gathered to recognize organizations that are helping protect and restore Long Island Sound while creating healthier and more resilient communities. And a special guest decided to join them!

These projects are part of a larger effort supporting 15 organizations across Connecticut and New York that are addressing local environmental challenges and expanding opportunities for people to connect with Long Island Sound.

We're excited to see these projects take shape and the benefits they will bring to communities around the watershed.

Congratulations to the New York recipients of the 2026 Community Impact Fund!

Today, partners gathered to celebrate organizations that are advancing cleaner waters, healthier habitats, and stronger communities throughout the Long Island Sound watershed.

In total, 15 organizations across New York and Connecticut were selected to receive funding through the Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund, a partnership among Restore America's Estuaries, the Long Island Sound Partnership, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

We look forward to seeing the impact these projects will have for Long Island Sound and the communities that depend on it.

Overflowing with fertilizer? A new map, known as the Long Island Sound Lawn Fertilizer Outreach Targeting Tool, can help.

The tool aims to help educators, communicators, and resource groups identify where nitrogen pollution from fertilizer would most likely be reduced by the right neighborhood behavior-change program. Click the link to learn more, and find nitrogen hotspots near you.

Rivers and roads, rivers and roads! Meet the new interactive mapping tool designed to help communities find problematic road-stream crossings in their area.

These crossings, known as culverts, are built for water flow. But if they're undersized or damage, they can cause negative effects for the immediate ecosystem, like spreading invasive species.

The Road-Stream Crossing Prioritization Tool includes more than 300 culverts assessed on-site by Save the Sound and The Nature Conservancy in Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties. Check out the crossings near you.
