We would like to introduce you to BackStoppers and the Special Olympics, we invite you to participate in the:

POLICE OFFICER TOM SMITH JR. The BackStoppers, founded in 1959, provides support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of all city and county police officers, firefighters, public-funded paramedics, EMT's and volunteer fire protection units who have lost their lives in the

line of duty. These include counties served Missouri Highway Patrol Troop C in Missouri, Illinois State Police District 11 in Illinois, and County of Cape Girardeau in Missouri. Special Olympics of Missouri transforms lives through the joy of sport, every day, everywhere. We are the world’s largest sports organization: with nearly 4 million athletes in more than 170 countries -- nearly 17,000 of them here in Missouri. We are also a global social movement. With initiatives to activate youth, engage kids with intellectual disabilities, build communities, and improve the health of our athletes - we're changing the game for people young and old and asking you to be a part of it all. BackStoppers and Special Olympics are 501(C)(3) non-profit organizations that do not have independent source of income. They rely solely on Fund-raising events, grants, and donations from individuals and corporations. Tax-deductible and volunteer support are needed for both BackStoppers and Special Olympics to continue to support our community. The High School Soccer Referee Association and the Eastern Missouri Soccer Referee Association have partnered with BackStoppers and the Special Olympic to host the

Police Officer Tom Smith Jr, Memorial Golf Tournament. Following in his father's footsteps, Tom jr. was a young and dedicated St. Louis County Police Officer and a EMSRA member. Who lost his life in the line of duty. All proceeds generated by the Tournament go to BackStoppers and Special Olympics of Missouri.
