We launched the Parking and Towing Assistance Program (PTAP) in 2021, creating an avenue to help St. Louisans manage high parking ticket balances via an affordable, monthly payment plan.

Instead of paying your entire balance at once, PTAP allows participants to make monthly payments on outstanding parking fines and fees to help avoid vehicle booting, towing, and additional late fees. If you are burdened by high parking ticket balances, we want to help.

Last Friday, I sat down with KMOV News reporter Shoshana Stahl to provide an update on the booting and towing program that was reimplemented 15 weeks ago.

I want to recognize the outstanding partnership and hard work of the Streets Department team in helping make our streets safer for residents and visitors across the City of St. Louis.

To date, more than 300 vehicles have been booted and towed as part of our efforts to improve parking compliance and public safety. Additionally, some vehicle owners were able to avoid towing by paying their tickets once booted.

CASHLESS PARKING TRIAL EXTENDED

Due to continued event parking demand, we are extending the cashless payment trial through Sunday, June 7, 2026.

The following parking facilities will remain cashless during the trial period:
• Justice Center Garage
• Cupples Station Garage
• Kiel Garage
• Williams Lot and City Hall Lot

Customers can conveniently pay with a debit or credit card, and there are no credit card processing fees charged to customers.

This trial helps us evaluate ways to improve the parking experience, increase operational efficiency through modern parking tools, and enhance safety for our employees by reducing the handling of cash.
