We're proud to recognize Jennifer Blank, gifted specialist at Wydown Middle School, who was one of only 11 area educators selected to present at the AT&T Digital Navigation Event last month at Washington University. At the event, she shared how she uses a custom MagicSchool AI chatbot to support students during Genius Hour. The tool helps give students personalized support as they brainstorm project ideas and receive individualized feedback to keep their projects on track.

Way to represent Clayton, Jennifer!

What started as a science unit on potential and kinetic energy turned into something much bigger. 💚

Glenridge fourth grade students wrapped up the school year with “One Small Push,” a student-led service project inspired by what they were learning in the classroom. They collected more than 150 cereal boxes, arranged them on the blacktop and demonstrated the domino effect for the entire school. In addition to donating the food items to the Clayton Food Pantry, the project raised over $2,000 for the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

We are so proud of the empathy, creativity and collaboration demonstrated by these students! It’s amazing to see the impact of one small push.

CHS student artists are making their mark! 🎨 The advanced studio art class recently completed a collaborative mural project in the CHS art hallway.

This impressive undertaking was part of a unit on the business of art and working as commissioned artists. As a team, students developed and revised designs based on feedback from their "clients," art teachers Kami Chavarin, Laura Brugere and Robert Sralla. After mixing paint, creating digital mock-ups and preparing the space, the class spent the last two weeks of the semester installing the mural.

Join us in congratulating these students on their phenomenal work:

After watching the documentary Atomic Homefront, Wydown 6 East students turned learning into action by inviting Just Moms STL to speak about environmental advocacy and community impact. Last week, co-founders Dawn Chapman and Karen Nickel joined these students for a powerful conversation. We are grateful for their partnership and proud of our students for their research, initiative and commitment to civic engagement.
