Today the Clayton Fire Department was honored to receive a visit from Mr Solerno. Mr. Solerno was at our community center on July 4th when he became short of breath. His condition quickly evolved into a full cardiac arrest. We are proud to have played a role in his recovery and happy to see him under much better circumstances.

Registration is OPEN for the 2026 Clayton 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb! ❤️🤍💙

This year’s event will once again be hosted at the Clayton Firehouse, with the climb taking place at the Pierre Laclede Center, 7733 Forsyth Blvd.

We’d love to see our firefighters, friends, family, and community members join us! Let’s come together to honor and remember the 343 firefighters and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

🚒 🎉A huge congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedics Jacob Duff and Rachel Slabaugh on graduating from the St. Louis County Fire Academy!

Graduating from the academy marks the successful completion of months of intensive training, where Jacob and Rachel strengthened the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to serve the Clayton community with excellence.

We are excited to welcome them into the next chapter of their careers with the Clayton Fire Department. We know they will continue to represent our department with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to outstanding service.

The Clayton Fire Department would like to congratulate Chief Jeff Counts on 25 years of service to the city of Clayton. Prior to joining the department, Chief Counts served in the US Army. Through the years at Clayton he has risen to the rank of Assistant Chief. His efforts, leadership, devotion, and example are great assets to both the people he serves and those that serve with him.

We are incredibly proud to recognize 8 members of the Clayton Fire Department who answered the call to assist during the devastating flash flooding that affected Southern Missouri last Friday morning.

Beginning at approximately 5:00 a.m., our personnel deployed alongside agencies from across the state to support life-saving rescue operations. Together, these teams rescued more than 360 individuals trapped by rapidly rising floodwaters and helped locate all reported missing persons.

Our members continued to support the ongoing mission, participating in the primary search of approximately 20 miles of the Black River and the surrounding river valley.

We proudly recognize the following Clayton Fire Department members for their outstanding service:
