Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. Our best hope for protecting the freedom of people and advancing the gains of the NAACP is by becoming a member, renewing memberships, and vowing to be more active, more vocal and more visible. The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race.
