River Valley Stitchers

River Valley Stitchers River Valley Stitchers is a quilting guild that meets the 4th Tuesday of the month except December The main emphasis has been quilting.

River Valley Stitchers was formed to encourage all forms of needlework and to use that skill to help in the community. The group is composed of all skill levels. The main community project has been Passage Quilts which are quilts that are used to cover a community member that has passed while being taken from their homes whether it is a private home or a skilled care facility. It helps to assure

the family and friends left behind that the person that their loved one is being treated with respect and was treasured by many people.. The quilts are app. 60 x 90. The have been given to care facilities, hospitals and funeral homes. It is hoped that any member of the River Valley Community will receive this kindness at the end of their lives. The meetings are not formal. Lessons and projects are done at meetings along with show and tell.
