How heavy is a glass of water? 6 oz? 8 oz? 16 oz? It really doesn't matter so much the weight of the water but how long you hold the glass. You hold the glass for 30 seconds it's fairly comfortable you hold it for 5 minutes it begins to get heavy you hold it for 2 hours, your hand may begin to cramp. If you hold it continuously, eventually, You could lose your grip and have a big mess on your hands.Holding trauma inside yourself is a lot like that glass of water. You can hold it for a while and not be too uncomfortable, But the longer you hold it the heavier it gets and the only way to prevent a huge mess, is too finally just put it down.

Today, educators from preschool teachers to university professors—are increasingly recognizing and supporting trauma-affected students by engaging them in learning, developing resources to help them, and creating safe spaces for them to succeed in
school (McInerney & McKlindon, 2014).

Earlier today I was looking a vids on youtube about su***de because I was gearing up for a training on Trauma and Su***de for staff at Spokance Community College on Friday. As I was watching one clip about signs of depression and suicidal ideation, I noticed a comment below the vid from someone who calls themself "Truth Seeker". The comment said "I didn't know I had almost all of those signs." and that was it. It totally raised a red flag for me and even though the post was a couple months ago,I felt like I needed to something. I tried to find Truth Seeker on fb with no luck so I flagged the comment hoping youytube would review it and maybe be able to fnd out who this Truth Seeker is and I left a comment validating how hard it has to be to feel that way and asking Truth Seeker to hit me up on fb. I'm not a mental health counselor but if that individual is still hurting I can help by referring them to someone in thir area who can help.
I challenge wach of you. Pay attention and if you see a red flag that someone is struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts or ideations, take some kind of action. 3000 people across the globe complete su***de every day! For each person who completes su***de, 20 people attemp it. You never know when there may be an opportunity to save someone's life.
