Again we make national headlines and gain the attention of our President. A sad day for Washington State.

In the City of Spokane Valley, we do our very best to keep costs low because it all comes from the taxpayers.

Washington Democrats just rammed through the state's first income tax: 9.9% on anyone earning over $1 million a year. Married couples get one shared exemption—so if your household clears $1M combined, you're hit. This isn't "just millionaires"; it's the opening shot in the war on success.

Dem lawmakers partied like they won the lottery after the marathon vote, grinning ear to ear while celebrating higher taxes on productive people. They ignore the 11 times voters rejected this garbage. The state constitution be damned—leftist Olympia knows best.

Predictably, the wealth flight is already accelerating. Howard Schultz is bailing for Florida the same day, Starbucks HQ heading to Nashville. More will follow. Why stay and get soaked when zero-income-tax states like Texas and Florida roll out the welcome mat?

This is classic progressive creep: start with "the rich," then watch the brackets slide down until everyone pays more. Government doesn't create wealth—it steals it, then wastes it. Expect fewer jobs, lower investment, and a hollowed-out economy as high earners vote with their feet.

Washington just Californicated itself. RIP freedom and prosperity in the Evergreen State. The exodus is on, and the rest of us will pay the price for their virtue-signaling theft.

WA Democrats' income tax bill is here and it's ugly (SB 6346). We strongly urge you to contact Democrat lawmakers and Gov. Bob Ferguson to express your opposition.

In 2024, WA Democrats disingenuously voted for Initiative 2111 barring income taxes, but the Senate Democrat Leader said it was a Pie Crust Promise that's "easily made, easily broken.” Now WA Democrats are planning to use their majority to vote against the will of the people and violate our state constitution.

Some Highlights of the WA Democrat Income Tax Bill (SB 6346)

-Eliminates Initiative 2111 barring state and local income taxes, which was signed by over 450,000 people.

-9.9% income tax supposedly starting with millionaires and this tax can be on everybody as early as next year, judging by history that would happen.

-Turns out a “millionaire” also includes small family businesses which could be destroyed by this confiscation of their family assets.

-Taxes athletes paying in Washington State, which would be a new barrier for national sports choosing to host sporting events in our state.

We stand with the people, who have rejected an income tax 11 times. Families and individuals need tax relief, not ever-increasing taxes.

Most of Olympia (and certainly not Ferguson) don’t care what we the people think!

Most of Olympia (and certainly not Ferguson) don’t care what we the people think!

The far left, special interests, and some WA Democrats think that the 61,000+ PEOPLE, who Signed-in CON on SB 6346 -the income tax bill on everyone, were generated by a BOT... Seriously?

Is it that hard to understand that SB 6346 is the MOST UNPOPULAR BILL IN WASHINGTON STATE HISTORY and deserves more public input after being rushed to committee right before the deadline?

If a BOT was to blame, those numbers would be far higher. Plus, the system has protections against BOTs, including reCAPTCHA. This blatant lie gaslights tens of thousands of people who represent millions of people statewide who oppose the income tax.
