Who are we, even? For those who are new to the idea of Lifetime Trailmaps, we’d like to share a little bit about us.
We’ve been in the mapping industry for many years. It all started in 2016 with printing outdoor quality maps [Lifetime Quality] and our passion has always been simple: helping fellow riders explore more, navigate the trails confidently, and spend less time worrying about where they’re going. In 2018, we joined a couple others as one of the few pioneers in the off-road navigation and mapping app sector. As the industry has saturated itself with apps for trail riding over the last few years, we thought it was a great time to give you a more in depth view of who we are and a glimpse into our long term philosophy. We have never been temporary, unmotivated or half-throttle.
Lifetime Trailmaps is not just another company that created an off-road navigation app. We’re off-road enthusiasts, riders and community supporters who understand firsthand what riders need and what they want to see when they’re miles from civilization, without cell service, and navigating unfamiliar terrain. Being the first choice for a planned adventure has always been a foundational purpose of Lifetime Trailmaps.
So now, what truly makes us unique?
We specialize in off-road GPS navigation software and GPS-equipped tablets designed for side-by-sides, ATVs, dirt bikes, and other off-road vehicles. Our trail database includes over 425,000 miles of trails, routes, and USFS roads across 37 states and we expand every month. Making the experience better across the entire US is what we eat, sleep and breathe. It's where we invest 100% of our time and resources and we don't take it lightly. Our trail data is second to nobody in the industry. NOBODY.
Our primary goal has always been to provide riders with extensive, accurate trail coverage without requiring them to spend countless hours searching the internet for map files, downloading and installing track packs, or piecing together navigation data from multiple sources and hope it is accurate. What makes us unique are not the group tracking or the route planning or the custom cursors and other fancy features that are coming in our new Platinum app. These features are just part of standard navigation SDK's available to every developer and we are all choosing to implement them because let's face it, this is 2026 and technology is king.
However, true trail mapping and data provisioning isn’t something you simply do here and there and return to your day job. Riders are constantly on the move. Trail systems change, routes evolve, new riding areas become available and areas get closed or removed. That’s why we continually work to expand our coverage, improve our data, and listen to feedback from the people who actually use our products. We personally (and our large network) spend hours and cover many miles on the trails. We interact with the community on the trails. We do not simply trace lines over internet satellite views from a desk and call it a day. Although our rider and data network is large and much appreciated, we do not rely on any source to provide us with updates to our mapping. We are connected at dirt level, in many areas, to many resources.
Instead of primarily focusing on over-interactive tech features and fancy buttons that users can soon forget are even there, we focus on what matters most: accurate maps, extensive trail coverage, a clean and simple interface, and ease of use. Yes, SIMPLICITY.
Our next-generation Lifetime Trailmaps Platinum platform that is now in field testing and soon releasing takes that philosophy even further with:
✅ Extensive off-road trail coverage across the United States
✅ Offline navigation
✅ TrackTouch interactive route planning
✅ RiderLink group tracking
✅ NexTurn navigational route enhancement
✅ Satellite, street, and terrain mapping options
✅ Desktop route planning
✅ Track, Route and Waypoint sharing
In closing, we believe in supporting the off-road community, working with riders, dealerships, riding destinations, and others who share our passion for the outdoors. Whether you’re exploring your local riding area or heading across the country for your next off-road adventure, our mission is to help you get the most out of every ride.
