The Chad A. Jacobs Memorial Foundation recently awarded $44,695.00 in travel hockey scholarships to Wizard Players for the 2026-2027 season. Since the Foundation's inception in 2010, the Foundation has awarded over $400,000.00 in house and travel hockey scholarships. The Foundation offers 4 different scholarships. Since 2010, the Foundation has awarded over $750,000.00 in academic and athletic scholarships to children in need from the surrounding community. #14

Since 2013, over $100,000.00 in United in Hope Scholarships have been awarded to high school seniors. Losing a parent to cancer is devastating enough, the financial implications of the disease can be catastrophic. Scholarships are not need based but financial need helps determine the scholarship award. Scholarship have ranged from $1500.00-$6,000.00.

The Chad A. Jacobs Memorial Foundation recently awarded $53,050.00 in travel hockey scholarships for the 2025-2026 travel hockey season. We received an unprecedented number of applications this year (29) and awarded scholarships to 19 players. The applicants described their Wizard hockey teams "like family" where they have learned lessons on the ice, like team work, working hard, and listening, that have helped them off the ice too. The Foundation is proud to continue supporting families with financial need so that their kids can play the sport they love. Since the Foundation began in 2010, The Foundation has awarded over $385,000.00 in Wizard Hockey Scholarships!

The Chad A. Jacobs Memorial Foundation purchased A Buddy Bench from Kevin's Afterglow which has now been installed at Wonderland of Ice. The mission of Kevin's Afterglow is to: 1: Teach kids kindness, empathy, and the ability to listen to others; 2: Educate parents and children on mental health; 3: Help address the pediatric mental health crisis and 4: Get people to talk. Buddy Benches are installed to reinforce the importance of being compassionate and aware of other people's feelings. "If you could try to make someone's life a little better, try to be a little kinder, a little more giving, then you could really make all the difference to someone who needs it," stated Jim Kuczo after his son lost his life to su***de. Let's strive to always be better and always help others be the best they can be!
