Today, Troop A gets the pleasure of welcoming two new Trooper Trainees to the barracks!

Trooper Trainee Bergin and Trooper Trainee Dinkollari are 2 out of 26 graduates from the 138th Training Troop. Their rigorous training at the Academy has set them up for their next step, Field Training.

Welcome to the Connecticut State Police, and most of all, welcome to Troop A!Congratulations to you both, we wish you the best on your next steps of training and the rest of your career.

On Friday, July 17th, 2026 at approximately 1600 hours, Troop A personnel were dispatched to an erratic operator on I-84 WB in the area of exit 14.
It was reported that the erratic operator, driving a tan Hyundai Sonata had struck the guardrail multiple times. The vehicle initially failed to stop/pull over when a traffic stop was initiated, eventually pulling over into a gas station off of exit 10.

Throughout the investigation, Troopers on scene determined the operator was in possession of drugs and various types of drug paraphernalia. The operator was arrested on scene.

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! 📣🚔📣

After graduating from the CT State Police Academy on November 26th, 2025 we have the pleasure of welcoming two new Trooper Trainees to our ranks here at Troop A.

Trooper Trainee Major and Trooper Trainee Eason, are two of the 38 Trooper Trainees from the 137th Training Troop. After enduring approximately 6 months of rigorous training, they now start their journey to the real world of policing.

TT Major and TT Eason will now embark on their next step, Field Training. Both Trainees will be paired with experienced Troopers out on the road, where they will learn the vital skills required for this career.

Please join us in welcoming them to our Barracks! 👏🏻

On Saturday. November 29th, Troop A’s resident trooper town of New Fairfield had its annual holiday light parade! The town organized a whole day of events for families, including bake sales, hot chocolate stands, North Pole phones and goat cuddles! Thank you to all who were involved, all those who attended and the constables/resident troopers for keeping everyone (including the goats) safe! 🚔🎄
