Remember alcohol affects everyone differently!

Drinking too much too quickly can increase the risk of injury, alcohol poisoning, and impaired judgment. Eating beforehand, staying hydrated, avoiding mixing substances, and planning a safe ride home can all help reduce harm.

If you choose to drink, be mindful about the way you do it. Check in with yourself and those around you. Your safety matters.

We need to talk about fentanyl, the synthetic opioid that has recently been considered a primary driver in the increase of drug overdose deaths.

In 2021, it was the leading cause of death in Americans ages 18-49. Yet, many people don’t even know they’re taking it. It’s often found in counterfeit pills and mixed into other drugs without warning.

This crisis isn’t just about substances, it’s about people. It can happen to anyone, all it takes is the wrong moment, the wrong pill, the wrong pain. It affects our friends, our neighbors, our loved ones. They deserve to be met with compassion, not judgment. When we lead with care instead of shame, we create real opportunities for safety, healing, and survival. Join us in sharing knowledge and support harm reduction efforts.

One pill can kill, but education, harm reduction, and community care can save lives.

This week, we want to share a gentle reminder to avoid mixing ma*****na and alcohol.

Although both are legal for recreational use in Connecticut, combining them can increase symptoms of nausea, dizziness, accidents, and poor decision-making. As they both impair judgment, coordination, reaction time, and overall ability to function safely, combining them can also significantly amplify these side effects.
